Bruce Melodie Returns to Gen-Z Comedy After 613 Days
Rwandan music star Bruce Melodie is set to return to the Gen-Z Comedy stage this week, marking his first appearance at the popular Kigali entertainment show in more than a year.
The singer has been confirmed for the next edition of Gen-Z Comedy, scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village, commonly known as Camp Kigali.
His return comes 613 days after his previous appearance at the show in January 2025.
Gen-Z Comedy Confirms Bruce Melodie
Organizers announced Bruce Melodie as one of the major guests for the upcoming edition.
In a public announcement reported by Rwandan media, Gen-Z Comedy told its audience that the artist would join the show on Thursday and encouraged fans to arrive early.
The September 10 edition will combine stand-up comedy and live music, a format that has become central to Gen-Z Comedy's identity.
Bruce Melodie is expected to provide the night's major musical performance after the comedy programme.
A Lineup of Rwandan Comedians
The upcoming show is also expected to feature several familiar names from Rwanda's comedy scene.
The announced lineup includes:
- Kadudu
- Clement Inkirigito
- Musa and Kandi
- Michael Sengazi
- Patrick Rusine
- Rumi
- Doddy
Fally Merci, the comedian behind Gen-Z Comedy, will once again host the event.
The show has developed into a recurring entertainment platform where musicians, comedians and other personalities interact more closely with audiences than they typically would at larger concerts.
Bruce Melodie's First Appearance Since January 2025
Bruce Melodie last appeared at Gen-Z Comedy in January 2025.
That appearance went beyond a traditional concert performance.
The singer also spoke to the audience about his career, his approach to music and his album Colorful Generation, while performing songs from his catalogue.
His return therefore brings him back to a format that mixes live music with conversation and audience interaction.
Return Follows the Summer Country Tour
The appearance comes after Bruce Melodie completed the 2026 Summer Country Tour, a series of concerts that brought him together with fellow Rwandan star The Ben in different parts of Rwanda.
The tour was designed to take major Rwandan performances beyond Kigali and connect the artists with fans across the country.
Bruce Melodie has continued to remain active following the tour, with another live appearance now scheduled in the capital.
New Music Also on the Way
The singer has also teased a forthcoming song titled "Irya 4."
Details surrounding the release remain limited, and no release date should be considered confirmed until Bruce Melodie or his team announces one officially.
For now, his confirmed Gen-Z Comedy appearance gives fans another opportunity to see one of Rwanda's biggest contemporary artists live in Kigali.
Music and Comedy Continue to Cross Paths
Gen-Z Comedy has increasingly become more than a stand-up comedy show.
The platform regularly invites musicians and other figures from Rwanda's creative industry, allowing artists to perform, speak about their careers and engage directly with audiences.
Bruce Melodie's return continues that crossover between Rwanda's music and comedy scenes.
For fans, September 10 will mark his first appearance on the Gen-Z Comedy stage in more than a year — and another major Kigali performance following a busy run of shows across the country.
