Zuba Ray Marks Two Years in Music as Kina Music Teases More Projects
Rwandan singer Zuba Ray is celebrating two years since beginning her professional music career with Kina Music, a milestone that arrives as the label says more projects from the young artist are in preparation.
The singer, whose real name is Soleil Uwase Irahari, entered the professional scene in September 2024 after being selected by Kina Music while studying music at Nyundo.
From Nyundo to Kina Music
Kina Music introduced Zuba Ray in September 2024, when she launched her career with “Igisabo.”
Contemporary reporting from The New Times confirms that she joined the label after Kina Music scouted talent from Rwanda's music school in Nyundo. Producer and Kina Music founder Ishimwe Clement produced her debut.
Two years later, the singer says the journey has included both challenges and memorable moments, while teaching her patience and confidence in the path she has chosen.
A Catalogue That Keeps Growing
Since her debut, Zuba Ray has steadily expanded her catalogue.
Her releases include “Everyday” featuring Nel Ngabo, “Utuntu” and “Ese Warikiniraga (Remix).” Digital music listings independently confirm several of those releases under Kina Music.
In January 2026, she also teamed up with King James on “Ikirezi.” Amazon Music and Shazam list the collaboration as a Kina Music release dated January 30, 2026.
She followed that activity with “Basara” during 2026.
‘This Year Was Special’
Reflecting on the milestone, Zuba Ray said 2026 has felt particularly important because more listeners have begun discovering her work.
She described the past two years as a period of learning and growth rather than a finished achievement.
The singer also thanked the people she has met and worked with during the journey, saying those relationships have contributed to her development both personally and artistically.
More Music on the Way
Kina Music used the anniversary to thank listeners who have supported Zuba Ray since the beginning of her career.
The label also said that more projects are being prepared for the singer.
No release dates or titles for those projects have been officially announced, so Lyrica is not treating any specific upcoming release as confirmed.
For Zuba Ray, the two-year milestone provides a clear checkpoint: from a music student selected at Nyundo to an increasingly visible R&B and Afropop voice in Rwanda's new generation.
Editor's Note: The two-year milestone and Kina Music's statement about projects in preparation were reported independently by BTN Rwanda and Umunota on September 30, 2026. Zuba Ray's 2024 entry into Kina Music is supported by contemporaneous reporting from The New Times, while digital music services independently verify key releases in her catalogue. No unannounced future project has been presented as confirmed.
